This portfolio, ‘The Long Defeat’ examines the inevitable fall from order into chaos. Regardless of our efforts to create order, time waits for no one and the ocean always wins in the end. However, the inevitable fall does not make the small victories less meaningful. Through photography, I create temporary order, resisting the long defeat. I’ve always had trouble with endings but creating this portfolio has allowed me to grow, finding beauty in the ephemeral.
